Subscriber, a company, who already has a landline connection in the office EPABX system, now opts for a third party fixed line phone after being convinced about lower tariff and rentals.
Marketing personnel convince the subscriber that a seamless switchover from the existing fixed landline connection is possible. During installation, Xtend CNA is connected to the fixed landline. The trunk port used by the fixed landline in the office EPABX system is now used for connecting the third party fixed line.
Subscriber is advised to change his fixed landline to incoming only. Since the fixed landline is now connected to Xtend CNA, all the incoming calls are automatically picked up, a voice message like “the subscriber you dialled has switched to (third party name). The new number is (new number)” is given and the line is disconnected.
Subscriber immediately starts receiving office calls on his new third party number. Every time the subscriber makes an outgoing call, it is routed via the EPABX to the third party fixed line.
At the same time, all callers to the original number now receive the changed number announcement stating that the subscriber has switched to using the third party network.
Since the fixed landline cannot be used for outgoing calls, the subscriber decides to make his fixed landline incoming only. All the incoming and outgoing office calls are now routed via the third party network.
The third party ends up becoming an essential component of the subscriber’s communication network. The fixed landline in the meantime has fewer people accessing it as all the callers are greeted with a changed number message and then disconnected.
After three months of usage, the third party fixed line is firmly entrenched as an integral component of the subscriber’s communication network. The subscriber would never dream of de-activating the third party fixed line. The fixed landline on the other hand services only a handful of incoming calls. The subscriber realises that he is not using the fixed landline anymore and puts in a de-activation request.
